At his father’s encouragement, he started driving go-karts at age 8. The time spent at the kart track was very profitable as he would drive a minimum of 100 laps per day. It was during this time that local racers saw him drive fast go-karts. They started calling him “Ace” for great passing abilities and fast consistent times. Later on go-kart magazines would call him “Ace” for winning and consistently being at the front.
Adrian has run 122 go-kart races, has 110 trophies, and 78 wins. He was a factory driver for Invader. He has won several National championships. And he has tested many prototype karts and parts. Long hours testing at the tracks build physical strength and mental toughness. In the summer of 2003 Adrian began the transition to racing cars.
In the 2004 Formula TR pro series Adrian ran in the front at every race. Mechanical problems dogged his first season in Formula TR. It was the test lap of a race, on the front row the left rear wheel came off. Unknown at the time, the rear hub had failed internally. Adrian stated that if he could get in the race he would set fastest lap and score points. He did that in 2 laps. The rear wheel came loose again, and Adrian retired from the race. The race director Steve Henry, upon seeing what had transpired said, “Now I know why they call him Ace.” Adrian finished second in the Formula TR Pro series and was named “Rookie of the year”. Ace had 3 wins and 10 podiums in Formula TR.
He competed in the Rolex 24 at Daytona with Team 16 in 2005, and in 2006 competed in the Star Mazda Series with World Speed Motor Sports and won the championship. For 2007 Ace will be competing in the #17 Champ Car Atlantic machine of Genoa Racing.
